Funeral Celebrants Hobart

When it comes to planning a funeral, one of the most important decisions you’ll make is who will lead the service.

A funeral celebrant is a trained professional who specializes in creating and conducting personalized funeral ceremonies that reflect the life and beliefs of the person who has passed away. Choosing the right funeral celebrant can make all the difference in creating a meaningful and memorable farewell for your loved one.

Christina Stephens

I have been working in the funeral industry for the past 6 years, completing my training as a Funeral Celebrant training in 2017.

My aim is to deliver a service that is truly reflective of your loved one’s life.  To celebrate and pay tribute to their life, in the manner they would wish.  Working closely with families to obtain their loved one’s life story, and to create and deliver a service that is both honest and heart felt.

For me, working as a Funeral Celebrant is both a gift and an honour. To be part of your loved one’s final farewell is considered by me one of life’s the most important celebrations, and it is a privilege to be a part of this.  I will not just deliver a chronological history, but a heartfelt and very special story of their life, and the manner in which they lived their life.

Rodney Bester

After a 40 year nursing career, I was asked to consider becoming a celebrant.

Initially I trained and was successful in being registered as an authorised marriage celebrant, however, I found more personal satisfaction in assisting families who had suffered losses from within their families and friends networks.

I now concentrate solely on conducting funerals and memorial services, and hope to continue for many years to come.

Gail Eaton-Briggs

Gail is an Authorised Celebrant. She is compassionate, experienced and  professional, and will work with you to ensure that your specific needs are met as you farewell your loved one.

Ray Curran

I have been a Celebrant since 2008, officiating ceremonies throughout Tasmania, South Australia, Northern Territory and New South Wales.  Based in Tranmere, I believe strongly that a funeral service should be not only be a celebration of that person’s life but also a revelation of their personal story.

What made them unique, what made them special, what can we learn from their life? Together with your family, I can make that final farewell a special something to remember.

Edwin Quillian

My driving force in life is, and always has been listening to people and attending to their needs. I spent the first part of my life as a farmer on the North West Coast, but since moving from Smithton to Hobart in 2005 I have become involved in the funeral industry.

My time since has been spent working in the many and varied facets of a funeral home, and this gives me a unique perspective on how important ceremony is for families.

It is a privilege and an honour to work with families in this way, and my passion now is helping them to create personalised, family led ceremonies to celebrate the life of their loved ones with honesty, sensitivity, laughter and love.

Lorna Long

Lorna is a compassionate, family oriented lady who listens to your every need. A hands-on lady who will walk beside you and guide you.

Writes personal heart touching individual services.

Will go over & above to care for you.

Jill Harper

I enjoyed and achieved much during a long career in Nursing and health management.

Then, I retired and I wondered what I would do, because I believed I still had so much to give! I wanted to continue to work with and support people at significant times in their lives, it’s what I do well.

Almost eighteen years ago I chose to work as a funeral celebrant and since then have officiated at many funeral and memorial services.  Each service has been and continues to be special and unique; I give of my time, my energy, my knowledge and skills and I care for the families I work with.

Each service I officiate at is important to me; I value what I do and I always strive to achieve the best possible outcome as families and individuals say goodbye to a loved one, just the way they want to.

My skills enable me to speak with families, to listen to what they have to say, and to help craft a story, then present it with clarity, warmth and sincerity.   I pay attention to detail thus ensuring that the special ‘touches’ that make for lasting, treasured memories are achieved.

Richard Ross

Death is a natural part of life, but grief can be devastating and a difficult experience to navigate for the family and friends left behind. The gift I bring to this moment is my presence, my listening ear and my reverence for the unique story of the loved one you grieve. My vast experience of over five hundred funerals and death in every possible circumstance, has taught me just how important the funeral service can be as a milestone on the journey of grief.

I will give the time it takes to help create the funeral service you seek as we celebrate the unique character and achievements of your loved one, give thanks for the love we shared with them, and find strength and purpose in continuing our lives without them.
